Once bottles, vases, plates, or glasses, dropped, sunk, broken, and shattered into the sea. Everything they were depleted. Useless bits of garbage no longer valued. Cast away into the depths. Tossed, turned, filed, smoothed, abandoned to drift as the current directed, no longer deemed worthy. Cast upon the shore of the Bearing sea, left alone slightly buried upon the shore.

Alas! Now treasures sought after by many! Some more precious than others, all viewed with awe and wonder. Precious sea glass- valued as bounty from the sea.

Some become jewelry adorning necks or ears. Some fashioned into splendid pieces of art, gifts to bring pleasure to the beholder. Possibly displayed in jars, lit with lights to glimmer with beauty. Some cast into a bowl or jar set on a shelf to contain memories of the day they were found.

Once good for nothing, worthless and weary. Surprisingly never judged, never labeled, never kept from becoming what they were destined to be. Prevented from being forever downtrodden, allowed to be molded and turned. Lifted up, not for what they were but for what they would become. Processed, predetermined, yet unstructured steps led to lifting them from the depths of the ocean to be treasures. Now they are Sea glass!
